I came across this image last night on Fragrance of Happiness and thought it was too fantastic not too pass along. Not to mention that Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite.
The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this; but all he said was, “Why is a raven like a writing-desk?”
“Come, we shall have some fun now!” thought Alice. “I’m glad they’ve begun asking riddles. — I believe I can guess that,” she added aloud.
“Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?” said the March Hare.
“Exactly so,” said Alice.
“Then you should say what you mean,” the March Hare went on.
“I do,” Alice hastily replied; “at least–at least I mean what I say–that’s the same thing, you know.”
“Not the same thing a bit!” said the Hatter. “You might just as well say that ‘I see what I eat’ is the same thing as ‘I eat what I see’!”
“You might just as well say,” added the March Hare, “that ‘I like what I get’ is the same thing as ‘I get what I like’!”
“You might just as well say,” added the Dormouse, who seemed to be talking in his sleep, “that ‘I breathe when I sleep’ is the same thing as ‘I sleep when I breathe’!”

Very nice.
Along the same lines, have you seen Matt Kish’s version of Moby Dick? Matt first presented his work as a series of blog posts, which you can see at his blog. (I’ll leave the URL in a separate comment to avoid having this comment be stuck in comment purgatory.)
Here is Matt Kish’s blog: everypageofmobydick.blogspot.com.
I have seen it and I love it. In fact, I have a blog post almost completed about it! I discovered it last month when I set out to reread Moby Dick (and didn’t quite succeed). His illustrations are just downright stunning… and what a project to embark upon!
I can’t wait to see your review. As you know, Kish mentions in his foreword another book that is a little along the same lines: Pictures Showing What Happens on Each Page of Thomas Pynchon’s Novel “Gravity’s Rainbow”.
Zak Smith’s illustrations are also all online, but I like Matt Mish’s book more.
Grrr — I meant Matt Kish, not Matt Mish. How frustrated to get tongue-tied whilst typing!
wonderland is wonder
That is very cool.
Fantastic. My brain can’t even fathom how people craft these incredible pieces of artwork out of books.
No kidding. It’s super impressive, isn’t it?
